State of the University

All WWU faculty and staff are invited to the “State of the University Address” (SOTU) on Thursday, September 19* at 8:30 a.m., where President Sabah Randhawa will share his reflections on the past year and goals and priorities for the 2024/25 academic year.

• For those that wish to attend in-person, the SOTU will take place in the Performing Arts Center Concert Hall, which has a capacity of 640 guests. After the SOTU, there will be coffee/tea and light pastries available in the PAC lobby for those attending in-person. 
• For those that wish to watch the State of the University Address remotely, the livestream will be available on this page, and also available here for replay afterwards, for those that aren't able to watch it live.

*Please note that September 19 is also the first day of student move-in, so we realize some of you will be busy at this time, and also that some parking lots and streets around campus will be congested, so please plan accordingly.

An Outlook meeting invitation for the 2024 SOTU was sent to all faculty and staff on August 29. Please accept the meeting invitation to add to your calendar for in-person attendance or remote viewing.

As a reminder, the SOTU replaces what was previously called “Faculty & Staff Opening Convocation.” The student-focused “New Student Convocation” is scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the day before fall quarter classes began.
