The President's Administrative Leadership Program is designed to provide a Western faculty or staff member the opportunity for professional development through direct engagement in projects and responsibilities of strategic importance to the University. In addition to working on projects selected in agreement with the President, the Leadership Fellow attends the meetings of the Board of Trustees, participates fully in the President's Cabinet, and, as relevant to the Fellow's projects, participates in meetings of the Vice Presidents.
Presidential Leadership Fellows are typically appointed for nine months and are selected from currently tenured members of the faculty, academic administrators, or other full-time staff members. The typical appointment will be for half the Fellow's professional effort. Upon completion of the fellowship, the Fellow returns to her or his academic or administrative role.
